All in one day: CAD CAM technologies enable us to solve several dental diseases in a day, saving time and stress to the patient. These technologies are used for the realization of traditional fixed prostheses and implant prostheses. 

Traditional Fixed Prostheses

The realization of fixed prosthesis for natural teeth with CAD-CAM technology consists in 4 phases:

Optical printing, CAD design, CAM realization, preparation (cementation).

Optical printing

Trios 4 intraoral scanner detects the dental printing in a few seconds, without using annoying printing paste that cause very often choking feeling and nausea. This device detects the colour of the tooth independently, to build a prosthesis very similar to the original one.

CAD Design

3D image created by the taking of the optical printing is sent to a specific CAD design software (Computer Aided Design) for the dental field. CAD system generates a virtual 3D model of the tooth in a few seconds, allowing to evaluate its resistance to the chewing stresses and the precision of adaptation to the close teeth.

CAM realization

The virtually designed tooth becomes a real element made of ceramic or composite resin by CAM technology (Computer Aided Manufacturing). Depending on material, we can use a subtractive process (milling machine) or an additive one (3D printing). These equipment enable to realize dental prostheses in a few minutes.

Preparation (Cementation)

From 60 to 120 minutes after the taking of optical printing, after checking its accuracy, it is possible to proceed to the preparation of the tooth or the whole fixed prosthesis into the oral cavity (cementation and potential adaptation).
